Chinese adaptive robot maker Flexiv has developed a fully automatic massage app for its Rizon masseuse robot . Powered by artificial intelligence, computer vision and force feedback, the robot can provide a massage equal to any human masseuse.
Flexiv's Rizon robotic arm has seven degrees of freedom and a weight of kg. For massage applications, it is equipped with a new soft silicone hot massage tool that can accurately emulate the deep pressure gliding motion commonly used in Tui Na, or as it is more widely known, Chinese deep tissue massage. The robot can be instructed to give a general back massage or to target specific areas of the back.
Thanks to a force sensitivity of newtons, D computer vision integration, and a patented artificial intelligence system , Flexiv's massage robot can automatically adjust, so it always provides an optimal C Level Executive List massage experience. Additionally, the massage robot can sense its surroundings through touch and sight.
According to the company, Flexiv's massage app is not only absolutely safe, but it can also provide personalized massages to people of all shapes and sizes automatically. Since the robotic masseuse will never get tired, distracted or suffer an injury, all of these massages will also always be of the highest quality, the company says. This ensures consistency and eliminates variability in skills often found among human massage therapists.
“We believe robotics will play an intrinsic part of everyday life in the future, democratizing access to services that are currently cost-prohibitive,” said Yunfan Gao, chief marketing officer at Flexiv. “I hope that one day our robotic masseuse will be available in every clinic, spa, gym and health club to provide a viable alternative to traditional massages.”
“Our goal is to make robotic massage mainstream and in the process, reduce its cost while increasing its availability. "People don't think about buying food or drinks from a vending machine, and we hope they think the same when they buy a robotic massage," he added.
